Watts, born 28 September 1968, is an British actress from Britain. When her
family relocated to Australia and she made her film debut there in the drama
For Love Alone (1986) and then appeared in three television shows, Hey Dad..
(1990), Brides of Christ (1991), and Home and Away (1991), and the film
Flirting (1991). After making the move to the United States, Watts initially
struggled to become an actress, acting in small-scale film until she made her
debut in David Lynch's psychological thriller Mulholland Drive in 2001 as an
actress who was aspiring. She gained international recognition for this part.
Watts was then played as a tortured journalist in The Ring (2002). As a
character in the film, she played a grieving mother , in the Alejandro film 21
Grams, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. She continued
to rise in the spotlight with her parts in I Heart Huckabees (2004) and King
Kong (2005) as well as Eastern Promises (2007) and The International (2009).
Watts received nominations for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her part
in The Impossible (2012) as Maria Bennett. In the 2010s she was in films such
as Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014), While We're Young (2015), The Glass
Castle (2017), and Luce (2019). Watts was also a star in blockbuster film,
appearing in Divergent (2015)-2016.
