Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston) she was a national director at Mary Kay and Freddie Wright as a
pharmacist executive. She was born and raised in San Diego. She began her
career as a model at the age of 14, and also worked in Paris and Japan. She
decided to be an actress when she finished high school. She was offered a part
on the soap opera Santa Barbara (1984), for which she was nominated three times
for an Daytime Emmy. The first season of the show she began to fall in love
with fellow cast member Dane Witherspoon, whom she married in the year 1986. In
1987, she appeared in the title role in The Princess Bride. After leaving Santa
Barbara, she was offered the lead role in Denial (1990) as well as Jason
Patric. She got to know Sean Penn in 1990 while she was in State of Grace
(1990). They had one daughter Dylan Frances with him and an infant son named
Hopper Jack. After taking some time off, Robin was back to Hollywood with one
the best role of her career: She played Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was
stunning and brilliant. Next, she was in Toys (1992) along with Robin Williams.
She gave a hilarious performance. Wright was in 1994's blockbuster success
Forrest Gump (1994), starring with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated for the Golden
Globe Award in recognition of her performance as Jenny. She was also given a
tiny role in The Crossing Guard (1995) in which she starred alongside Jack
Nicholson. After declining 14 roles she played the title role in MGM/UA's Moll
Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman and
Stockard Channing. Her next film was Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) along with
William Hurt.
